Stockings, Socks & Legwarmers:

Sally uses antique hand-cranked stocking machines dating from the 1890s-1910 to make these wool and silk stockings. Hand-braided silk garters are a nice additional accessory. Our stockings are used by re-enactors, films, theatre, museums and connoisseurs of handmade leg-wear the world over.

HOW TO ORDER:  We have far more demand for stockings than Sally can keep up with, so we generally only open this page for new orders once the current order list gets near the end.  Keep an eye on this notification, or on our Facebook page or Instagram for updates on the next ordering opportunity. When the page goes 'live' again, please be ready to order as soon as possible, it's not at all unusual for all the available spaces for orders to fill up in under ten minutes! Once all the slots are full, the page will shut again and we won't be taking any more orders until the next order date. You can still click on listings whilst the shop is shut to see descriptions and prices in advance, but be aware that things like colour choices and size dropdowns may not show up. All our sizing refers to UK shoe sizes, you may wish to check your size against a conversion table in advance..

NEXT ORDER DATE: The shop will next open for custom stocking orders on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at 12 noon GMT (UK time). Orders placed on that day will be made over the next four months.

If you have a question about a current order, do feel free to email. It's only Sally making these here and we strongly feel that quality is more important than quantity. If you are a heritage site, film or theater wardrobe needing to order via a purchase order system, please email and we can discuss how to fit in your requirements. Thanks for your patience!

Overseas clients: We strongly advise you choose a "tracked"post service when you checkout as world post services are being rather slower than usual during current events and it makes sense to be able to see where your parcel has got to! Sales to the EU and Northern Ireland are welcome but you may well have import duties and VAT on arrival as I have no way to arrange this in advance for you.
