Handmade on antique hand cranked stocking machines with hand finishing, a narrow hem top and a back purl row 'seam' as standard, these 100% linen stockings are available in three variations, two lengths, and two heel styles. Just choose the right options for you below. Please remember that linen does not behave like wool, it is stiffer, has no natural stretch and will need gartering. You should be fine to machine wash these on a cool, short cycle as an alternative to handwashing:
 
Heavy linen: unbleached and suitable for medium to large sizes
Medium linen: bleached white, suits most sizes
Fine linen: Dyed light gold shade. Best for small to medium sizes and slim to medium calves. 
 
Heel style: 
'Common Heel' has a three needle bind off under the square heel.
Short row heel has a comfortable modern style heel
 
Length:
Standard: A couple of inches above the knee on most wearers
Extra long: Mid thigh on most wearers
 
As with all my custom made stockings, I currently take orders to be made over the following four months. I'm often faster, but please be prepared to wait whilst I knit these for you. Let me know if you have any specific fitting requirements such as particularly slim or heavy calves. There is a limit to how wide I can make these so feel free to drop me a line before ordering if needed.
