A hand-knitted Kilmarnock style bonnet in slate grey bordered in light beige/cream British wool, heavily brushed and fulled (felted) after knitting to create a thick dense warm bonnet suitable for re-enactment/costume wear. Supplied with a toorie in the colour of your choice (red shown, other colours to suit your requirements). Based on an image of a British soldier c1813.
These hats feature an adjustable head-size as there is a strong black grosgrain ribbon run inside the narrow band to allow you to secure the bonnet at whatever size suits you.
On Sale! I have several of these partly finished, all suited to larger heads. A good opportunity to catch these at an excellent price.
Made to order. The way our order book is currently working, we open the shop approximately once a month for new commissions and shut it again once we have as many orders as we think we can realistically make over the next 4-6 weeks. Please be aware that your order may fall anywhere into that timescale. We'll always aim to be as prompt as we can.

We are sorry to have to announce that Gareth died on Friday 26 March 2021 after being diagnosed with cancer in the autumn of 2020.
Sally had surgery for breast cancer on 30 March and is also currently doing an MSc in Experimental Archaeology, so between healing and university is currently working a bit more slowly than usual. Thank you for your patience and support!
