A version of my pure wool stockings with 'all the options' and a couple more besides:
-Pure wool in a wide range of shades (the options below are a starter selection, other shades available)
-Thigh high, on my model here they came to 30 inches from the floor, a slimmer leg will come a little higher, a heavier one a little lower.
-'Common' heel to mimic heels seen on early stockings. This has a square shape with a seam under the heel.
-Back seam made from a column of purl stitches.
-Reinforced toe for extra wear. I've run a thread in with the wool whilst knitting the toe, (this may be visible as thread is rarely a perfect colour match to yarn).
-Eyelets in the upper edge of the cuff for pointing to hose if desired.
A vast range of shades is available, the options below are the most popular, but if none suit your tastes, choose n/a in all colour areas and we'll discuss your requirements before starting work.

Made to order. The way our order book is currently working, we open the shop approximately once a month for new commissions and shut it again once we have as many orders as we think we can realistically make over the next 4-6 weeks. Please be aware that your order may fall anywhere into that timescale. We'll always aim to be as prompt as we can.
the 'Bees Knees' Stockings
Fitting notes: these work well on most male and heavier female legs, but do say if you are a bit more solidly or more thinly built and I'll adjust accordingly. The 5ft 9 model here has a 17inch calf and a 24inch thigh if that helps with comparison to your own measurements.

If I have the yarn in stock, I can usually get your stockings made and out to you within two-three weeks, but very occasionally we hit a busy patch and turn-round time may vary. I'll always keep you up to date on progress.
Stockings come with a twist of matching yarn for any eventual darns they may need and are hand-wash (or very gentle hand-wash cycle on the washing machine if you are certain your machine behaves with pure wool!
