Netting is probably one of the earliest textile skills, with evidence of its use going back into early prehistory. A net bag is genuinely appropriate for all time periods from the palaeolithic through to the current century, and net making is a skill well worth learning.

This kit contains a beechwood netting shuttle and gauge stick (of no specific dateline, so should work on most living history sites), photo instructions, and enough heavy rustic pure linen string to make two bags similar to the ones pictured.

The kit can also be used in conjunction with the Net Bag Making tutorial on Sally's YouTube channel if you find you'd like video as well as photo instructions.
