A set of ear irons (oorijzer) handcrafted in solid, highly polished bronze for a reddish gold finish, ornamented with little spheres and twists on the end of the 'arms', just right for perfecting the headdress styles seen in the Netherlands, Flanders and sometimes England during the late 16th/early 17th Century.
Supplied with a pure silk ribbon to adjust the fit on top of the head, the arms themselves can be genly bent to perfect the fit around the back of the head and will fit most wearers, but if you need very specific measurements achieving, let us know and we'll take that into account when making yours.
Made to order. The way our order book is currently working, we open the shop approximately once a month for new commissions and shut it again once we have as many orders as we think we can realistically make over the next 6 weeks or so. Please be aware that your order may fall anywhere into that timescale. We'll always aim to be as prompt as we can.
Sally Pointer - Heritage education
bringing you objects, skills, and inspiration from the past, to enrich the future
We are sorry to have to announce that Gareth died on Friday 26 March 2021 after being diagnosed with cancer in the autumn of 2020.
Sally had surgery for breast cancer on 30 March and is also currently doing an MSc in Experimental Archaeology, so between healing and university is currently working a bit more slowly than usual. Thank you for your patience and support!
