Sally Pointer has a degree in Archaeology and Medieval
English. She specialises in the research of plant use,
especially pigmented, medicinal or aromatic plants, and
writes, teaches and researches a wide range of
historical topics including soapmaking, early perfumery,
cosmetics and textiles.

She lives in Wales with her partner Gareth, a slightly deranged cat
called Hagl, and a lot of bees.  She works for the National Museum of
Wales by day, and the rest of the time can be found working on all the
other projects you can see reflected in this site. She has appeared in a
number of historical television programs and spends as much free time
as possible on the re-enactment circuit. She also finds time to teach
and wishes she had enough time to give her garden the attention it
deserves!

She tries to strike a healthy balance between proper academic stuff
and being a bit of a tree hugging hippy. If she has one motto, its 'be
inspired by everything, but Think for yourself'

You can contact her
here about any of the topics on this site.
